Bogor, W Java (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) and Malaysia`s Mara Technology University (UTM) organized the First International Plantation Conference at the IPB International Convention Centre here on Wednesday.

"The theme of the conference is `Capacity Building Development and Sustainable Technology`," IPB spokesperson Henny Windarti said.

The conference was attended by researchers, palm oil businessmen, as well as students of the two universities.

IPB rector Prof Herry Suhardiyanto said: "The use of sustainable technology in plantation development is an important issue that concerns both IPB and UTM."

"I very much appreciate the initiative of IPB`s faculty of agriculture and UTM in organizing this conference," he added.(*)
