They came to the Bulog office on motor vehicles unfurling a number of posters and banners protesting against the alleged embezzlement of the subsidized rice involving Bulog officials.
Zainullah, the rally`s coordinator, alleged the Bulog officials embezzled the rice worth Rp2.6 billion between 2010 and 2013.
"In the 2010-2013 period, the poor at Larangan Slampar village only received subsidized rice nine times," he said.
As a matter of fact, the subsidized rice must be distributed among those entitled to it every month, he said.
The demonstrators who hailed from Larangan Slampar village, Tlanakan subdistrict, Pamekasan district, also distributed brochures among passerby containing the amount of aid that must be distributed among the poor.(*)
