We really hope the development of Indonesian football to be as good as those in other countries."Surabaya (ANTARA News) - Demonstrations committed by ardent supporters of East Javas Persebaya soccer club or better known as reckless capital (bondo nekad or Bonek) has hampered the congress of the All-Indonesia Soccer Association (PSSI) here on Sunday.
The mass of the Bonek wearing green shirts were seen in front of one of the largest hotels in Surabaya and also caused long road congestion.
The congress which started late due to the Bonek demonstration, will discuss several programs includes validation work program 2014, the financial reports, and reports of activities of the competition for 2013.
The 2014 PSSI congress was opened by East Java Governor Soekarwo.
"We really hope the development of Indonesian football to be as good as those in other countries," Soekarwo stated.
Meanwhile, PSSI general chairman, Djohar Arifin Husin said that the implementation of the congress is part of the mechanism to run the organization as well as to improve football coaching in Indonesia.
In the meantime, Youth and Sports Minister, Roy Suryo said recently that the PSSI extraordinary congress which ran successfully in Jakarta last year has safeguarded Indonesia from FIFA stern sanction.
According to the minister, AFC and FIFA representatives who directly observed the extraordinary congress opined that all agenda have been conducted as required by the world soccer organization to do.
