Head of Collection and Information Services Division, the National Library, Lucya Dhamayanti, made the statement here on Tuesday, adding: "As the guest of honor, we are required to translate at least 200 Indonesian books into German and English."
A team has selected 350 literary and non-literary books, which will be on display at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2014 on October 8-12.
She noted that childrens books, as well as books on food and culture of Indonesia, which will be of interest to the visitors, will be displayed at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
In the third year of its participation at the largest book fair, Indonesia will organize a discussion on ancient Balinese manuscript, named Astakosala, which describes Bali architecture.
"The manuscript will be discussed by Bambang Hernawan from the National Library and the Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Fauzi Bowo," Lucya said.
In addition, a program named Look at Indonesia will be conducted that will invite the publishers to look at Indonesian literary works.
Frankfurt Book Fair is the largest book fair in the world that organizes the purchase and sale of copyrights.
