The agency asked for an addition of Rp91 billion to initially proposed budget of Rp2.896 trillion, BPK secretary general Hendar Ristriawan said.
The additional budget is needed to implement BPKs new working system and structure with the opening of office in the new province of North Kalimantan, Hendar said in a hearing with the Commission XI of the House of Representatives here.
In addition, the state audit agency estimated that there will be an increase in its auditing capacity and the volume of auditing works and specializations in investigations, he said.
"BPK also needs support in information technology in implementing its function," he added.
A legislator Dolfie OFP criticized BPK for not including its working plan in its previous proposal.
However, deputy chairman of the commission Andi Timo Pangerang said the commission approved the proposal for additional budget allocation for BPK.
