Earlier, at a CEO Summit, President Joko Widodo said Indonesia was open to foreign investors participating in the countrys development efforts.
With regard to his countrys relationship with Japan, Joko Widodo said, "the relationship between Japan and Indonesia is based on mutual trust and therefore our relationship must be broadened so as to offer more benefits to the two countries and their people," he noted.
Prime Minister Abe stated that Indonesia was a strategic partner for Japan. He also mentioned that both maritime countries should contribute to the world peacekeeping and justice efforts.
"The two countries have long developed their relationship by helping each other," he observed.
According to him, the Japanese government wished to contribute to Indonesias industry and human resources development through investments.
The meeting between the two leaders lasted for about an hour. President Joko Widodo will also hold meetings with US President Barack Obama, Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang, and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
On Sunday, the President had a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang.
