The evacuees went to Tribhuvan Airport in the Nepalese capital city of Kathmandu to be flown out of the earthquake-hit country to Jakarta, Deputy Director of the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministrys Protection of Indonesian Citizens and Indonesian Law Body Krishna Djelani said.
"In this first batch of evacuees, 19 adults and seven children are being flown back to Indonesia," he added.
The rescued citizens were transported by an Indonesian Air Forces Boeing aircraft, Djelani stated, adding that two personnel from his office stayed back in Nepal to continue to monitor the situation and wait for other Indonesians who want to be evacuated out of the country.
"They will remain in our command post in Kathmandu until May 15," he affirmed.
The aircraft carrying the evacuees flew from Kathmandu to the Bangladeshi capital city of Dhaka, where it refueled, after which it continued its journey to Aceh province. The flight is supposed to land at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta on Wednesday evening, Djelani noted.
