The reconstruction of Klewer Market will kick off in June."Solo (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian government will disburse another Rp97.2 billion in funds through the 2016 state budget to complete the construction of Klewer market in Solo which caught fire on December 27, 2014.
"Overall, the construction of Klewer market which is the largest textile market in Central Java will cost an estimated Rp159 billion," Director General of Domestic Trade of the Trade Ministry Sri Agustina said on the sidelines of a coordination meeting on national food at the official residence of Solo mayor.
The government has so far disbursed Rp61.8 billion in funds taken from the revised 2015 state budget to revitalize the market after it caught fire on December 27 last year.
"The reconstruction of Klewer Market will kick off in June. The first phase of the project this year will cover construction activities," he said.
The reconstruction of the market cannot be completed in one year as President Joko Widodo earlier instructed while he visited the market following a blaze there late last year.
One of the factors impeding the reconstruction of the market is that the project is financed by the revised 2015 state budget.
Because of a short time available for the reconstruction of the market, he feared that the project can not be completed on schedule.
