Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, July 22, 2015 - (Antara) - As the manufacturing sector in Vietnam ramps up with the current influx of foreign direct investment and expansion of industrial parks, the demand and need for new and high quality equipment and technologies is set to increase among Vietnamese enterprises.

In light of these developments, MTA VIETNAM2015, which came to a close on 10 July 2015, provided a most effective platform for international technology suppliers and local companies to network and extend their business prospects in Vietnam and the surrounding region. A total of 11,987 trade attendees, including visitors, exhibiting staff, conference delegates and speakers, and members of the press from 22 countries and regions attended the event. 256 group delegations from well-known companies and organisations such as Bach Nghe Auto, Honda Plus, Isuzu Vietnam, Juki Vietnam, Kirby Southeast Asia, Nissey Vietnam, Ptsc Mechanical & Construction, Saigon Precision, Samco, Schaeffler Vietnam, Shiseido Vietnam, Takayoshi Vietnam, Vietubes, etc also came to the event.

"This year marks an important milestone for the event as we have achieved the best show size on record. With the robust support from the manufacturing industry, we envision an even larger, technology-rich event in the future, with expanded displays of products, as well as deeper knowledge sharing activities. Through collaboration with our partners, MTA VIETNAM will meet Vietnam's industrial needs to compete as the choice manufacturing base in the region for global brands," said Mr. Tee Boon Teong, Deputy Chief Representative of Singapore Exhibition Services' Vietnam Office, organiser of MTA VIETNAM2015.

Successful sourcing platform for new technologies

A testament to the success of MTA VIETNAM2015 was the many 'sold' signs on display at the exhibition. Many of the 346 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions had brought in equipment and solutions that were new and catered for the Vietnamese market.

Commenting on the demand for new technologies by local manufacturers, Mr. Kazunori Kojima, General Director of AMADA Vietnam said, "We received many inquiries from potential customers and were surprised that there was a large demand for new technologies from Japan. We sold two HG 1703 Bending Machines - newly-launched in Vietnam - within the first two days of MTA VIETNAM2015. We are very pleased with the results."

Having successfully sold their best selling product - Seibu's M7SA Wire Cutting Machine, Mr. Dao Van Viet, Strategy Director of Vietnam Precision Industrial Joint Stock Company (VPIC) shared, "The visitors at MTA VIETNAM this year are of high quality and all of them were looking for new machines. We also appreciate the support from the organisers whom were ready to assist when needed."

"We are very satisfied with the quality of the show and the visitors. We sold four machines that were launched in Vietnam for the first time. These included three laser cutting machines and a 250t/4m press brake," said Mr. Johan Elster, President, Business Unit Markets, Bystronic.

Mr. Ricky Hwa, General Director of Yamazaki Mazak Vietnam said, "MTA VIETNAM is the must-attend event for Mazak Vietnam. We have participated in this event for more than 10 years. We are very pleased with the turnout this year. There are more attendees and we sold one of our best products in first two days of the exhibition - the VCS530 Milling Machine."

Knowledge sharing and networking with the experts

Industry thought leaders addressed issues and shared best practices with the industry at seminars held over two days at MTA VIETNAM2015. Organised by the Lean 6 Sigma Network and the Multi Engineering Solutions Laboratory (MESLAB), the sessions were well attended by more than 280 delegates.

Dr. Nguyen Huu Thien, Chairman of Lean Six Sigma Network said, "One of the most difficult challenges of the manufacturing industry in Vietnam is the lack of training in new technologies and methodology. We have been collaborating with MTA VIETNAM2015 for many years and are proud to be a part of this event. The seminars and training sessions offer delegates insights and experience, which will help to enhance the development of the local manufacturing sector."

Strengthening relationships and building networks

Commenting on MTA VIETNAM2015, Mr. Nguyen Nam, Chief Representative of Southern Office, Vietnam Federation of Mechanical Industry said, "MTA VIETNAM is a very good and professionally-managed trade show. There is a wider range of technologies and equipment, as well as big brand names at this event compared with other similar exhibitions for the manufacturing and supporting industries. We will definitely visit MTA VIETNAM2016."

A repeat visitor to MTA VIETNAM, Mr. Kha Thanh Phong, Maintenance Manager - Alliance Global Services Co. Ltd added, "MTA VIETNAM2015 is a big event for the industry. We can see that the exhibition this year has increased in size and there are more exhibitors. We were able to save time and gather the relevant information we needed. We also met many potential partners at the exhibition and we are planning to collaborate with them in the future."

The next edition of MTA VIETNAM2015 will return on 5 to 8 July 2016 at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
