Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The new Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung made assurance here on Thursday that he would focus on improving political communication between the presidential institution and others.

"The main focus is in line with what the president has said about how the presidential institution, in its wider sense, can help to build better communication," he noted at the State Palace complex.

He affirmed that sound political communication would be established not only with other institutions but also with supporting and non-supporting political parties and mass organizations.

"This is what will be my priority," he added.

"Yesterday, Pak (Mr) Andi (the former cabinet secretary) sat with me and immediately handed over the post. What is good will be carried forward, but things, which have not yet been good, will be improved," Pramono emphasized.

Pramono expressed belief that he would be able to build better communication.

"What is important now is to build good political communication. Under current economic conditions, peace is necessary besides solidarity and mutual respect. This will be the basic capital," he remarked.

President Joko Widodo recast his working cabinet here on Wednesday by installing six figures, including Sofyan Djalil, who replaced Andrinof Chaniago as head of the National Development Planning Minister/National Development Planning Board (Bappenas).

Five other figures, officially sworn in by President Widodo at the State Palace that day, are Luhut Pandjaitan, Darmin Nasution, Pramono Anung, Rizal Ramli, and Thomas Lembong.

Pandjaitan, a retired general and presidential chief of staff, replaced Tedjo Edhy Purdijanto as the coordinating political, legal and security affairs minister while Nasution, the former Bank Indonesia governor, took over from Sofyan Djalil as the coordinating economic minister.

Ramli, the former coordinating economic minister and finance minister under the President Abdurrahman Wahids government, replaced Indroyono Susilo as the coordinating maritime affairs minister.

Anung, a senior politician of the ruling Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), replaced Andi Widjajanto as the cabinet secretary, and Lembong, a former official of the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (BPPN), took over from Rachmat Gobel as the trade minister.(*)
