"We are proud about the achievement of the UI students at having come up with this innovative creation," UI students affairs director Arman Nefi said here on Monday as he witnessed a sail test of the ship at lake "Danau Kenanga" at the UI campus here.
Arman expressed the hope that the students creative work will help promote innovations in green power sources, something that the ship built by student showcases.
According to him, the three teams will represent Indonesia in a competition to be held in the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United States from June to July 2016 under the theme, Maritime.
The ships which will join the competition will include the Jagur ship (produced by SBT), Flat-plate ship (produced by HT) and Makara-06 dan Makara-05 ship (produced by AMV), Arman stated, adding that the SBT is expected to participated in Dutch Solar Challenge international competition, starting from June 30 to July 9, 2016.
The Flat-plate ship will join the competition in the Internasional Hydrocontest 2016 in Switzerland from July 24 to 31, 2016.
Meanwhile, AMV will join the AUVSI Roboboat Competition 2016 from July 4 to 10 in Virginia Beach, U.S.(*)
