"The mural exhibition is from local artists to support World Culture Forum 2016," said Chief of the Indonesian National Gallery, Tubagus Andre Sukmana, here on Monday.
This murals are also part of a street art exhibition held in Bentara Budaya, Bali, from September 9 to October 16, 2016.
Artists who are interested in this field have worked in Bali, with their works being a reflection between art and urban values, said Tubagus.
"These developments are increasingly rapidly since the 2000s," he said.
On the occasion of this exhibition, he noted that the National Gallery of Indonesia invited four artists from the mural community who have experience in developing their ideas in public spaces, especially in Bali and around Bali island, namely Jamur Community, Pojok Community, Slinat Community and Batu Belah (Suklu) Community.
Besides the mural exhibition, there is a painting exhibition by Indonesian artists, with the theme "Take A Closer Look to The National Gallery of Indonesia", which was held from October 10 to October 14, 2016, at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC), the same location as the World Culture Form event in 2016.
This exhibition, he added, displaying two reproductions by Indonesian artists. The first painting is titled Kapal dilanda Badai (Ships hit by Hurricane) (1851) by Raden Saleh Syarif Bustaman, while the second painting is called Ibuku (My Mom) (1941) by Affandi.(*)
