"We have arrested 10 persons (separately) between 03.00 and 06.00 local time this morning," Senior Commissioner Rikwanto said here on Friday.
The 10 individuals were identified by their initials AD, E, AD, KZ, FH, RA, RS, SB, JA and RK.
Eight of them were arrested for alleged treason and would be charged under section 87 of the criminal code, with maximum sentence of life in prison.
"Two others JA and RK were charged under section 28 of the law on electronic transaction and information," he said.
The 10 suspects were taken to Mobile Brigade Command headquarters in Kelapa Dua, Depok, in West Java province.
The arrest was made based on the result of investigation conducted by the Jakarta Police.
"There was no resistance during their arrest," he added.(*)
