Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the Peoples Consultative Assembly (MPR) leaders discussed the noble values of Indonesia, enshrined in the four state pillars of the 1945 Constitution, Pancasila, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) and the Unity in Diversity.

"Witnessing our present development, we find it necessary to make the public familiar with the noble values of Indonesia in the four state pillars," MPR Chairman Zulkifli Hasan remarked after a consultation meeting with the president on Tuesday.

Hasan and MPR vice chairmen Mahyudin, Evert Ernest Mangindaan, Hidayat Nur Wahid and Oesman Sapta met with the president for the consultation meeting.

He said that the follow-up of the establishment of Pancasila stabilization institution was also discussed.

In addition, the president and MPR leaders also discussed the latest development in the society and ways to restore the values of consensus and peaceful dialogue.

The MPR chairman noted that any disagreement could be settled by the deliberation that promotes peace and unity of Indonesia.(*)
