"The arrest was made at 9pm on July 7 (Friday)," Brigadier General Rikwanto said.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police have arrested a man suspected to be the one who has put up an ISIS flag at a police precinct in South Jakarta recently and left a threat letter.
"The arrest was made at 9pm on July 7 (Friday)," head of public information of Public Relations Division of the National Police Headquarters, Brigadier General Rikwanto, said when asked for his confirmation on news about it here on Sunday.
He said joint members of the National Police Headquarters, the Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police and South Jakarta Resort Police commands arrested the man known by his initials GOH at his house on Jalan H Nurisan, Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.
Rikwanto said GOH was believed to have followed radical ideology since 2015 through Telegram channel and ISIS ideology since in the middle of 2017.
GOH put up the ISIS flag and sent a terror threat as a warning to police anf TNI (military).
A man in a motorbike was known as having put an ISIS flag and left a letter containging a threat to police and TNI at the fence of a police precinct in Kebayoran Lama at around 5.30am on Tuesday (July 4).
An officer on duty at the police station heard the sound of a motorbike suspiciously stopping in front of the station after a dawn prayer.(*)
