Budi stated here on Tuesday evening that the president and the presidential office had never issued such letter, which was sent through the fake email account, confirming it to be a hoax.
"The copies of the letter sent to a number of agencies and SOEs through the account jokowiriana@gmail.com email account were going viral in social media," he stated.
Since the letter seemed to have been signed by the president himself, the presidential office saw the urgency for immediate clarification to avoid any misunderstanding or false information.
According to Budi, Jokowi does not have any official or personal account under the name jokowiriana@gmail.com.
He also added that the presidential palace would take necessary legal steps against the owner of the email account as well as the maker of the letter.
In this case, Jokowi appealed to all parties and communities not to easily trust a letter or the like on behalf of the president and the Presidential Palace.(*)
