Bali will be the first region where every plot of its land will have certificates.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The government has continued to accelerate land certification in various regions to complete agrarian reform and to address land ownership problem.
"Through an equal and just economic policy, the government has accelerated land certification, reaching 250 thousand (certificates) now," President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said in his State to The Nation Address before members of the House of Representatives (DPR) and Regional Representative Council (DPD) at Parliament Building, here, on Wednesday.
The government has also redistributed 707 thousand hectares of forest land to adat communities who are expected to manage them productively.
Besides, the government has also carried out social forestry program that gives access to the grassroots at 40 percent of the lowest level to manage the forest for their welfare.
"Therefore, it could reach 40 percent of the lowest layer (of the community). The government has implemented policy reform to make sure that subsidies are directed toward the right targets," he stated.
The government has also implemented social allowance programs reaching the lowest layer of 40 percent.
The Agrarian and Land Spatial Ministry (ATR)/National Agrarian Agency (BPN) has set a target that every plot of land in Indonesia has been certificate and is registered by 2025.
"Hopefully, by 2025, every plot of land in Indonesia will be certified and registered," ATR Minister /BPN Head Sofyan Djalil noted in Denpasar, Bali, on Aug 5.
Land measurement would be conducted with the cooperation of the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI), which has topography directorate.
The ministry has increased its personnel in charge of land measurement.
"Today, we have installed 4.3 thousand independent land measurement officers," he remarked.
Bali will be the first region where every plot of its land will have certificates.
"I hope that by 2019, every inch of land in Bali will be certified in accordance with the instruction from the president," he added.(*)
