Nadia wants to reach the 1.8 meters high in order to achieve a minimum limitation record of 2018 Asian Games, she told Antara here on Thursday.
"I hope to have an opportunity to join the Asian Games that take place in our own country because it will be a pride for Indonesian athletes," she said after winning the women`s high jump event in the 2017 National Athletics Championship at the Rawamangun stadium, East Jakarta.
Nadia posted a 1.72 meter jump in the 2017 National Championship. But the jump was still below the national record in the name of Nadia in the Singapore Open Championship 2017 which was 1.79 meters.
"Coach set a target the I should break the record of 1.8 meters and enter the national limit for the Asian Games. However, the limit of the Asian Games women`s high jump is 1.9 meters," she noted.
Nadia admitted that her training program under the guidance of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Athletic Association (PB PASI) still on general stages and has not yet reached the technical training (target) so it does not make use of all her ability to reach the limit of 1.8 meters.
"I still have to undergo basic exercises," Nadia said, adding that she is also ambitious to surpass the leap of ASEAN athletes in the previous SEA Games 2017 which was 1.83 meters to gain the achievement of the 18th Asian Games.
