The TNI commander and his entourage, who arrived at 7:30 a.m. local time aboard a special TNI aircraft, were welcomed by NTT Regional Government Secretary Benedictus Polo Maing.
Eltari Airbase Commandant Col Arief Hartono informed reporters that the TNI commander made the visit to NTT during his transit en route to Australia.
"The TNI commander only made an hour-long visit before continuing his journey to Darwain," Hartono remarked.
In Australia, Marshal Tjahjanto will attend the opening of the Exercise Pitch Black Royal Australia Air Force (RAAF) to be held this week in Darwin.
The RAAF is held once in two years, and this time, a total of 16 countries will take part.
