Salwa finished the 100 meter race with a time of 50.09 seconds to break the previous Asian Games record of 50.86 seconds she set in the Asian Games qualifying round in Jakarta.
With the time of 50.09 seconds, Salwa took the gold medal, while Indian sprinter DAS Hima who finished the run with a time of 50.79 seconds earned the silver medal.
The bronze medal went to Mikhina Elina of Kazakhstan who finished the race with a time of 52.63 seconds.
In the men`s 400 meter race, Qatari sprinter Hassan Abdalelah won the gold medal with a time of 44.89 seconds.
Yahya Muhammed Anas of India who clocked in at 45.69 seconds bagged the silver medal, while Khamis Ali of Bahrain who finished the race with a time of 45.70 seconds earned the bronze medal.
No Indonesian sprinter moved on to both the men`s and women`s 100 meter run finals.
Meanwhile, Indonesian sprinter Lalu Muhammad Zohri stepped into the men`s 100 meter finals after finishing the men`s 100 meter race with a time of 10.24 seconds. The other Indonesian sprinter, Boby Yaspi was eliminated in the semifinals.
