According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) in its statement released on Wednesday, the seismic activity could be in the form of fire and sound of booming, while the status of the volcano remains vigilant within a 2 km radius from the crater.
BMKG passed on a report of Mount Anak Krakatau`s activity by Deny Mardiono AMd, officer of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Geological Agency, PVMBG Observation Post for Mount Anak Krakatau for the observation period ended on October 2, 2018 at 00.00 to 24.00 WIB (West Standard Indonesia Time). The observation showed the condition of mist 0-0 III. Crater smoke is not observed.
The visuals of CCTV were observed by fire, there was a sound of thumps and vibrations and the glass was felt weakly at the Observation Post of Mount Anak Krakatau, the waves were calm.
Visuals at night from CCTV were observed by flames and flares in all directions.
The observation showed 156 incidences of seismic activity, with an amplitude of 30-51 mm, a duration of 29-305 seconds. Harmonic tremor was recorded 3 times, with a amplitude of 10-15 mm, a duration of 24-37 seconds). In addition, shallow volcanic 3 times, with 6-8 mm amplitude, duration of 3-6 seconds. Continuous tremor (Microtremor) is recorded with an amplitude of 3-51 mm (dominant 45 mm).
Volcanoes in the sea with a height of 338 meters above sea level (masl) are observed during sunny and cloudy weather. The wind blows weakly to the north, northeast, east and west. Air temperature is 24-33 degrees Celsius, air humidity 56-98 percent, and air pressure 0-0 mmHg.
The conclusion is the activity level of Mount Anak Krakatau Level II (Waspada), and the community / tourists are not allowed to approach the crater within a 2 km radius of the crater.
