Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - There is no difference in the amount of bonus that athletes competing in the Asian Para Games (APG) from October 6 to 13, 2018, in Jakarta, will receive, according to the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) Deputy Assistant for Sports Achievement Chandra Bhakti.

"Everything is the same. The value of bonuses given to the Asian Para Games athletes will be the same as that given to the athletes at the Asian Games," Bhakti told Antara here on Wednesday.

According to him, an individual athlete at the Asian Para Games will receive a bonus amounting to Rp1.5 billion for a gold medal, Rp500 million for a silver one, and Rp250 million for a bronze medal, similar to the Asian games medalists.

"The same thing will also apply to team athletes: gold medalists will receive Rp750 million, silver medalists Rp300 million, and bronze medalists will get Rp150 million per person," Bhakti said.

In addition, he said the Asian Para Games athletes who fail to

win a medal will also receive Rp20 million per person.

"Not only bonus in the form of money, but athletes who excel in the Asian Para Games will also be appointed as Civil Servants, just like the Asian Games athletes," Bhakti said.

The Asian Para Games will see the participation of 41 countries with a total of 2,800 athletes, 1,800 officials and 500 mediapersons, both from within the country and abroad.

There are as many as 18 sports that will be contested in the event, including basketball, volleyball, fencing, table tennis, swimming, shooting, judo, cycling, chess, weightlifting, bowling, goal ball, badminton, running, archery, boccia, handball and tennis.
