Based on data at the agency, the Mamasa district of West Sulawesi was hit by a quake with a magnitude of 3,5 on the Richter scale at 02.53 western Indonesian time.
The epicenter of the quake was onshore three kilometers south of Mamasa, 3.16 degrees south latitude and 119.47 east longitude at a depth of 10 kilometers.
The tremors were felt but weak as far as the district of Polewali Mandar.
A few minutes earlier at 02.04 western Indonesian time, a stronger quake 4.6 on the Richter scale jolted Central Sulawesi with epicenter at 1.72 south latitude and 120.8 east longitude or 37 kilometers southeast of Poso at a depth of 13 kilometers.
No report of casualty and damage to property.
In September, thousands of people were killed and missing in Central Sulawesi when tsunami triggered by a magnitude 7.4 earthquake hit Donggala and Palu in the western coast of the province.
