"(The 32 cases) consisted of 6 cases of industrial designs, 5 cases of copy rights, and 21 cases of brands," Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna H Laoly said here on Thursday.
In an effort to improve the public economy, the ministry has improved public services, particularly in the registration of intellectual property rights, he noted.
Throughout this year, the ministry has settled 45,799 of 70,800 applications for the registration of brands; 8,537 of 10,638 applications for the grant of patent; and 3,170 of 4,072 applications for the registration of industrial design, he stated.
In addition, it also settled 27,034 applications for copy rights; 26 applications for geographical indication; 10 applications for commercial confidentiality; and one application for integrated circuit layout design, he added.
Through the law guidance program, last year, the ministry gave legal aid to 97,290 people, consisting of litigation aid to 18,733 people and non-litigation aid to 78,557 people, and designated 356 legally conscious villages, he remarkede.
He further revealed the implementation of supervisory and accountability improvement program at the ministry.
To maintain its integrated performance, the ministry has conducted sustainable supervision, he pointed out.
