"This is part of Yogyakarta`s tourism promotion as the 10 new tourist destinations programmed by the government," Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun noted in Beijing on Thursday.
The cultural stage to promote Yogyakarta`s tourism was held first in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, on Wednesday (Mar 6) and will then be organized in Jinan, Shandong Province, on Friday (Mar 8); Zhengzhou, Henan Province, on Monday (Mar 11); Xi`an in Shaanxi Province on Wednesday (Mar 13); Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, on Friday (Mar 15); Nanchang in Jiangxi Province on Monday (Mar 18); Nanjing in Jiangsu Province on Friday (Mar 22); and Guangzhou in Guangdong Province on Wednesday (Mar 27).
According to the ambassador, some 500 tourist travel agents in Shenyang City also witnessed the ballet and the beauty of Yogyakarta`s tourism highlighted at the event.
Some 14 thousand tourists were brought to Bali in 2018 by tourism agents based in the capital city of Liaoning Province.
"Until March 2019, the number of tourists visiting Indonesia from that area has reached 900," Ambassador Djauhari pointed out.
Tourism promotion, in the form of art performances, was held by travel agencies owned by Indonesian businessmen headquartered in Guilin, Guangxi Province.
The activity was supported by the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, Indonesian Consul General in Guangzhou, and the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism.
