"We have coordinated for server experiments, and we have discussed with other parties, such as Telkom and PLN."Pontianak (ANTARA) - As many as 121,204 or 74 percent of 163,469 students in West Kalimantan province would take Computer-Based National Examination (UNBK), while the rest would take Paper and Pencil-Based National Exams (UNKP) this year,. Head of the West Kalimantan Provincial Education Office Suprianus Herman, said.
"The National Examination Series will be carried out by the West Kalimantan Education Office from March 25 to May 13, 2019. A total of 163,469 students of 2,574 education units, from junior high, vocational, and high school levels in 14 districts / cities in West Kalimantan, are ready to follow the National Exam," Herman stated in Pontianak on Tuesday.
He explained that the UNBK would be followed by 100 percent of senior high school /MA / SMK students, and 52 percent of junior high school students at an equal level.
He remarked that at the high school level, the number of students taking the National Examination was 71,820 from 865 schools, and at the junior high school level, it was equivalent to 91,649 from 1,682 schools.
According to him, the number of students participating in UNBK at the high school / MA level was 45,806 from 558 schools, and those from vocational level was 19,960 from 195 schools.
"The number of students for UNBK at junior high school is 46,116 from 589 schools, and UNKP participants are 42,264 from 984 schools," he explained.
Herman also explained that the national exams has implemented server preparation by state telecommunication operator Telkom and state electricity firm PLN related to the implementation of the National Examination, especially in remote areas and borders, including urban areas.
"We have coordinated for server experiments, and we have discussed with other parties, such as Telkom and PLN," he explained.
He added that he would increase the integrity index in the implementation of the National Examination. "The next challenge is to improve the achievement, so that there will be improvement of the learning process as per national education standards," he revealed.
