Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has extended the detention granted to two suspects in bribery cases related to infrastructure projects in Mesuji District in the Budget Year 2018.

"Today, their detention has been extended to 30 days from April 24 to May 23, 2019," KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said here on Thursday.

The two suspects are Taufik Hidayat (TH) from the private sector, who is also the younger brother of Mesuji district head and Secretary of the PUPR Office of Mesuji District, as well as commitment maker (PPK) Wawan Suhendra (WS).

The KPK has also named three other suspects— District head of Mesuji non-active Khamami (KHM), the owner of PT Jasa Promix Nusantara, and PT Secillia Putri Sibron Azis (SA) and one private party named Cardinal (K). Azis and Cardinal are currently undergoing trial at the Class Corruption Court of IA Tanjungkarang, Lampung.

In this case, Mesuji District head Khamami allegedly received a bribe worth Rp1.58 billion as a project "fee" amounting to 12 percent of the total project value, requested by Azis through Suhendra.

The bribe was a "fee" for four infrastructure projects being undertaken by two companies owned by Sibron. The first project sourced from the 2018 APBD was carried out by PT Jasa Promix Nusantara (JPN) in the form of providing a base with a contract value of around Rp9.2 billion.

Secondly, three projects were sourced from the 2018 APBD Amendment, where one project was carried out by PT JPN, namely the procurement of Brabasan-Mekarsari section material amounting to IDR 3.75 billion, and the two other projects were carried out by PT Secilia Putri (SP), namely Labuhan Mulya-Labuhan Baru-Labuhan base management. The mine is Rp1.48 billion and the right-left mining material (gold-estuary triangle) is valued at Rp1.23 billion.

The bribes were granted in stages. On May 28, 2018, an amount of Rp. 200 million was received, and on August 6, 2018, an amount of Rp. 100 million was given, and on January 23, 2019, Rp1.28 billion was submitted.
