Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Singapore Foreign Ministry expressed its condolences over the passing of former First Lady of the Republic of Indonesia Ani Yudhoyono.

The wife of the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono passed away at National University Hospital, Singapore, on Saturday at 11.50 local time after struggling to fight blood cancer in the past four months.

"The Singapore Government extends its deepest condolences to Bapak Yudhoyono and family, and to the people of Indonesia, in this time of mourning," Singapore Foreign Ministry wrote on its press statement, Saturday.

The body of Ani Yudhoyono would be brought to the Embassy of Indonesia in Singapore, before being brought home on Sunday (June 2) morning.

Died at the age of 66, the woman whose full name is Kristiani Herrawati Yudhoyono left her husband, two sons, two daughters-in-law, and four grandchildren.
