Jokowi and his running mate Ma'ruf Amin attended the KPU plenary meeting in Jakarta on Sunday afternoon.
"Tomorrow we will work immediately," Jokowi said in a press conference after the announcement.
According to him, the people need to work hard together to improve the country's global competitiveness.
Related to the composition of the government coalition, Jokowi would discuss it with his coalition. However, he emphasized that government seats would be open to anyone who was eager to work hard for advancing Indonesia.
"As I have often said, we will open (the opportunity) for anyone to develop this country together," the former Jakarta governor noted.
Along with his mate, Ma'ruf Amin, Jokowi assured to carry out the mandate of the Indonesian people by working hard.
"Both of us will dedicate ourselves to achieving the ideals of the founders of the nation. We will both fight as hard as we can, work as hard as we can to continue the foundation we have built with (Vice President) Mr. Jusuf Kalla in the first five-year term of our government," Jokowi said.
Jokowi-Ma'ruf was declared as the president and vice president-elect of Indonesia after winning 85,607,362 votes or 55.50 percent in April election.
Meanwhile, their contender, the Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno pair, gained 68,650,239 votes or 44.50 percent.
The plan for the inauguration of Jokowi and Ma'ruf Amin as President and Vice President for the 2019-2014 period will be held on October 20, 2019.
