Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung fondly recollected the five memorable aspects of BJ Habibie, Indonesia's third president, who passed away in Jakarta on Wednesday.

"The five words we will always remember him by are first, innovation; second being inspiration; third, technology; fourth, democracy; and fifth is human resources," he remarked after paying homage at Habibie's residence, here, Thursday.

Habbie had left behind an extraordinary legacy for the Indonesian nation despite his short presidency, he pointed out.

Habibie, also the country's seventh vice president, had given concrete proof for the nation, specifically press freedom, he remarked.

"Certainly, we will maintain and nurture it, and we must thank Mr Habibie, who is extraordinary," he stated.

The nation should be grateful to BJ Habibie for his legacies concerning democracy system, press freedom, and technological innovations, he stated.

In the meantime, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had earlier affirmed that the country would always hold the late BJ Habibie in high regard for his lifelong dedication.

Jokowi is scheduled to lead the funeral ceremony of BJ Habibie at the Kalibata Heroes' Cemetery, Jakarta, on Thursday, at 1:30 p.m. local time.

The remains of Habibie will be buried next to those of his wife, Hasri Ainun Besari, who had breathed her last in 2010 at a hospital in Germany. Their romance captured the hearts of several Indonesians, especially after it was captured in the film titled "Habibie & Ainun."

According to a statement of Habibie's personal secretary Rubijanto, attendees at the funeral will comprise Vice President Jusuf Kalla and his wife, Military Commander Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian.

Bacharuddin Jusuf (BJ) Habibie, also known as Rudy, was born in Pare Pare, South Sulawesi, on June 25, 1936, and led the country from May 1998 to October 1999.

Habibie, concurrently ex-research and technology minister, is survived by his two sons: Ilham Akbar and Thareq Kemal.
