The concept of developing millenial housing complexes prioritizing the culture of togetherness, mutual surveillance, and religion should be maintained to thwart deviant sects and radicalism
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin has appealed to property developers to be heedful of social aspects in building new housing complexes by prioritizing the culture of togetherness to thwart radicalism.

"The concept of developing millennial housing complexes and prioritizing the culture of togetherness, mutual surveillance, and religion should be maintained to thwart deviant sects and radicalism," he stated while opening the Indonesia Property Expo (IPEX) 2020 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Saturday.

Amin also appealed to developers to not only prioritize the concept of modernity in building new housing complexes for millennials but also pay attention to the environment in their development process.

In addition to focusing on the environmental impact analysis, developers should create housing complexes replete with good sanitation and clean water facilities, especially housing for people from the low-income group, he stated.

"I appeal to developers in charge of building housing complexes, both for people from the low-income and otherwise, to pay attention to offering clean water supplies and a good sanitation system in building housing complexes," he remarked.

Clean water and good sanitation also facilitates the growth of children aged below five years and children living in housing complexes as part of the efforts to curb the stunting rate.

Since the government has outlined the target to lower the stunting rate to 14 percent in 2024, from 27.67 percent in 2019, the vice president expressed optimism that the developers would partake in achieving the target. Related news: Aceh's Kadin applauds UAE's investment interest
