Bandung, W Java (ANTARA) - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) investigators seized some two million pills, suspected to be illicit drugs, from four houses in Cisaranten Endah Village, Arcamanik Sub-district, Bandung City, West Java Province, on Sunday.

The pills, confiscated during a drug raid operation, were packed in 25 boxes and ready for being sold, BNN Eradication Division Deputy Head Inspector General Arman Depari revealed.

Depari stated that his men will open all seized boxes containing the pills that might have been produced at the four houses to identify the precise number of the pills.

"According to information, several other packs still remain outside the crime scene. We are going to combine them later," he remarked, adding that the houses were connected to one another camouflage the BNN officers.

Inside those houses, the agency's investigators discovered two big machines for producing the pills and several other equipment, including mixing and draining devices, Depari stated.

The drug raid operation also resulted in the arrest of six people at the houses.

"The houses are said to have been used for producing the pills since five months ago, but we see the equipment is no longer new. We are still probing the case."
The BNN investigators would send some samples of the pills that they seized in the drug raid operation that they conducted along with several local police personnel to a laboratory to identify their types of drugs, he stated.

Indonesia remains under serious threat from drug dealers, as several individuals from its working-age population have been trapped in a vicious circle.

The BNN's report that some 50 Indonesians die of drug use every day has not yet deterred drug users in the country from consuming these banned substances.

The users of crystal methamphetamine, narcotics, marijuana, and other types of addictive drugs are from any community and from distinct socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.

Hence, Indonesia is perceived by both domestic and transnational drug dealers as a potential market due to its huge population and millions of drug users.

The value of drug trade in the country is estimated to have reached nearly least Rp66 trillion.
