The Indonesian government will issue a Presidential Decree soon to make the provision of goods and services easier and quicker in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto..
"The government will soon issue a Presidential Decree on the ease and acceleration of goods and services provision processes to handle the spread of COVID-19," said Airlangga Hartarto in a joint press conference in Jakarta on Friday.
The decree will regulate the procurement process of goods and services, including tenders, the process of importing goods, and the redistribution of goods in areas affected by COVID-19.
Other processes that would help make procurement of goods and services easier and smoother will also be included in the COVID-19 countermeasures, the minister said.
On Friday morning, President Joko Widodo led a limited meeting on ‘Monetary and Fiscal Policy Facing the Economic Impacts of Covid-19 Global Pandemic’ from the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta via video conferencing.
The meeting was attended by a number of ministers from the economic sector, and representatives from Bank Indonesia, Financial Service Authority, and the Deposit Insurance Corporation.
At the meeting, Jokowi instructed his staff to issue policies that would help the economic sector deal with the impact of COVID-19. (INE)
