"The central and local governments harbor a common spirit to maintain economic activities while concurrently applying the health protocol to cut the chain of COVID-19 transmission," Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita noted in a statement here on Tuesday.
Kartasasmita spoke of the circular letter issued by the ministry to the country’s industry operators pertaining to the operation of factories during the duration of the health emergency related to COVID-19.
The circular letter is based on Government Regulation No. 21 of 2020 on large-scale social restrictions to accelerate the handling of COVID-19, Presidential Decree Number 11 of 2020 on establishment of COVID-19 community emergency, and Health Minister Regulation No. 9 of 2020 on guidelines for large-scale social restrictions to accelerate the handling of COVID-19.
"We have issued a circular to all companies and industrial areas and guidelines for all workers to thwart the coronavirus infection," he stated.
The circular letter aims to enhance the productivity of industries while still adhering to the health protocol recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO).
It also contains guidelines for industry players in conducting their business activities during the duration of the public health emergency.
The minister explained that industries and companies within industrial zones are allowed to conduct business activities on grounds that they follow the health protocol.
The Industry Ministry will issue the operation permit for industry and industrial areas in accordance with Health Minister’s Regulation No. 9 of 2020 on guidelines for large-scale social restrictions.
"One can apply online for the license through the National Industry and Information System (SIINAS), and we ensure that the license can be issued within 15 minutes," he added. Related news: Government endeavors to stabilize prices of basic necessities
