"On behalf of the people, nation, and country, I wish you, the extended family of the Republic of Indonesia National Police, wherever you are assigned, a happy 74th Bhayangkara Day," President Widodo stated at the commemoration of the 74th anniversary of the 2020 Bhayangkara Day from the Jakarta State Palace, Wednesday.
The head of state also thanked and praised all members of the Indonesian National Police for their sacrifices and contributions.
The president believes that members of the National Police had contributed significantly in maintaining security and order as well as enforcing the law in addition to offering shelter and services to the community.
"Thank you and highest degree of praises are in order for your dedication, sacrifice, and contribution in order to maintain security and order in enforcing the law and providing shelter and services to the community," he noted.
The president also invited all community members to pray for the soldiers, who lost their lives in the line of duty.
"May they secure a noble place in the eyes of God Almighty and always grant good health to all personnel of the National Police and the families," the president noted.
On the same occasion, the head of state stressed that the National Police should stand by the people to fight and work hard in tackling health and economic issues amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
"In this difficult scenario, the presence and involvement of all ranks of the National Police is of utmost importance, with involvement, right from the ranks of the Headquarters, Regional Police, and Police, to the Sector Police in inviting the public to stay disciplined in implementing health protocols," he affirmed.
