"So far, it is 94 percent. That is the latest data for today," an official of local education office Masduki said here on Monday.
This achievement was attributed to information on vaccines being disseminated by the West Jakarta education office to the parents of students.
According to Masduki, his side has encountered difficulties in vaccinating students since some parents were not educated about vaccines.
"We have indeed conducted the dissemination of information to all parents. Finally, now, they are aware because they are also participating in the vaccination," he remarked.
Earlier, the West Jakarta city government stated that as many as 69,442 out of the 77,158 students from elementary to high school had received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
"Now, it has reached 90 percent of the 77,158 students," he remarked.
The students received vaccine injections at outlets provided by schools spread across 24 locations in the West Jakarta area.
Earlier, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan had allowed schools to commence face-to-face learning as stipulated in the Governor Decree of Jakarta Province No. 1026 of 2021 on the Enactment of Level 3 PPKM. The decree refers to the Ministerial Joint Decree Number 03/KB/2021, No. 384 of 2021, No. HK.01.08/MENKES/4242/2021, and No. 440-717 of 2021 on guidance on the implementation of school learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
