Our goal is to make a big event, such as PON, a success without creating new cluster of COVID-19Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) organized the Mask Car Movement for Papuans in a bid to support the implementation of health protocols at the XX National Sports Week (PON) to be held in Papua from October 2 to 15 2021.
The BNPB and the Health Protocol Task Force of Papua PON have intensified health protocols by rolling out mask cars at four venues of PON: Jayapura City, Jayapura District, Mimika District, and Merauke District.
The mask distribution operation began in Jayapura City this Saturday, with a total of 12 thousand masks handed out in the early stages.
The strengthening of health protocols in Jayapura City was supported by 123 health protocol volunteers from various institutions. Earlier, the volunteers had received in-depth material training related to health protocols and the inaRISK application reporting system.

In addition to mask cars, the strengthening of health protocols is also being conducted through health protocol campaigns and information disseminated directly to athletes, athlete assistants and officials, and the community around the match venues.

The Mask Car movement and health protocol campaigns target areas, with high probability of crowding, including the Mandala Field, Cendrawasih Hall, Cenderawasih University Field, Youtefa Bridge, Aviation Polytechnic Sport Hall, and Waringin Hall.

In addition to the movement of mask cars, there will be six mask booths at venues during the XX Papua PON. As many as one thousand masks will be distributed at these outlets every day.
The BNPB had earlier delivered three million masks to the public and match spectators. Moreover, the agency has provided three thousand boxes of antigen test kits and 500 thousand bottles of hand sanitizers to ensure the implementation of health protocols during the national games.
