"We realize that each stakeholder will have an equally important role in encouraging the implementation of 5G in Indonesia," director of telecommunications at the Directorate General of Post and Information Technology at the ministry, Ayu Widyasari, said during a virtual event on Tuesday.
The Ministry of Communications and Informatics itself will have a role in providing direction for technology development, providing regulations, providing equal business space, facilitating ecosystem development, and orchestrating the development of information and communication technology, she said.
Meanwhile, ministries or institutions will play a role in providing facilities in their respective sectors, she added. The local government will play a role in facilitating the development of supporting infrastructure, she continued.

Telecommunication providers will help in providing infrastructure for 5G services as well as have the opportunity to collaborate with vertical industries to provide 5G technology solutions, Widyasari added.
Universities will also play an important role in providing competitive human resources or digital talents, she pointed out.
Meanwhile, the industry, startup vendors and tools, developers, and communities will be able to collaborate with telecommunications providers for providing ICT equipment, providing end-user devices for each market segment, developing content applications, and providing dynamic digital product innovations as solutions for advancing economic activities, she elaborated.
"For the business sector, there are opportunities to develop 5G technology as a solution for improving business through digital automation to increase production," she said.
Widyasari further added that the media will also play an important role in encouraging and providing feedback for all sectors on digital transformation awareness.
"We once again express our gratitude to stakeholders in the communications and informatics sector who have worked together in realizing digital transformation in Indonesia," she stated.
