Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Muhammadiyah COVID-19 Command Center (MCCC) has expressed its gratitude for all volunteers and healthcare workers who have helped prevent and contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

"To the healthcare workers of MCCC provincial, district, and sub-district branches, let us remain consistent to maintain what we have achieved. To national and international partners that we cannot mention one by one, (be sure that) Insya Allah (God Willing), 2022 will be the last year of non-natural disasters in Indonesia," MCCC Muhammadiyah chief Agus Syamsudin said in a press statement released on Tuesday.

In 2022, Muhammadiyah will build positive narratives and optimism for helping people face the COVID-19 pandemic, he informed.

The MCCC and its ranks from the central to sub-branch levels have moved together to support COVID-19 prevention and mitigation efforts from late February 2020 till December 2021, he noted.

In addition, it has also helped vaccinate more than 600 thousand people against COVID-19, in cooperation with the Health Ministry, the Indonesian Military, and the National Police, he informed.
