I want to fly the national flag on the podium.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin has expressed support for Mario Suryo Aji, a 17-year-old racer from Magetan district, East Java, who is set to compete in the 2022 FIM Moto3 World Championship.

Amin met the racer -- who was accompanied by East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa -- at the Vice Presidential Palace here on Saturday.

"I, on behalf of the government, laud all parties, especially Aji as the only Indonesian racer to qualify for the 2022 FIM Moto3 World Championship," he remarked.

He said he was proud and hoped that the young racer would perform optimally at the racing event, including the one at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), which is scheduled to be held from March 18 to March 20, 2022.

"Certainly, we are proud. Hence, I will pray and hope that Aji can achieve optimum results," he added.

In addition, he said he hoped that the racer will continue pursuing his education.

"Still, Aji must be highly educated," he remarked.
