Jakarta (ANTARA) - Some 547 personnel will be deployed to secure the implementation of the second 2022 G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputies (FCBD) meeting and first 2022 G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) meeting.

"The Jakarta Metropolitan Police, along with the Jakarta Regional Military Command and Jakarta Provincial Government, will deploy 547 joint security personnel to secure the meeting," Deputy Head of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Brigadier General Hendro Pandowo stated here on Monday.

Pandowo informed that the joint security personnel will be stationed at 26 points, including at the venue of the meetings and at the delegates’ lodgings along the route used by the delegates as well as other vital objects.

The brigadier general called on all personnel to create a conducive situation amid the implementation of the 2022 G20 side events in Jakarta.

"Through the event, Indonesia invites the global community to cooperate in achieving a stronger and more sustainable recovery as well as a more integrated global economy," the Jakarta police official remarked.

The two meetings will take place at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on February 15-18, 2022.

Earlier, First Secretary of the 2022 G20 Meeting Rudy Rahmaddi had revealed that the two 2022 G20 finance track meetings, initially planned to be held in Bali, were relocated to Jakarta.

"It is in accordance with the preference of the G20 delegates, considering the high risk of being exposed to COVID-19 when they transit in Jakarta before taking a flight to Bali," he remarked.

The year 2022 is proving to be a historic year for Indonesia as it hosts the G20 summit for the first time, thereby making it the first developing country in Southeast Asia to lead the group.

During the 2022 presidency, Indonesia has raised the theme of "Recover Together, Recover Stronger," with focus on the three strategic issues of inclusive health care, digital-based economic transformation, and sustainable energy transition.

A total of some 127 meetings are scheduled to take place before the G20 Summit in October 2022.
