"The command post team is tasked to virtually coordinate with the command posts owned by regional governments and relevant ministries and institutions," Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs Suhajar Diantoro informed in a statement released here on Friday.
The team has also been tasked with coordinating with the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) to obtain information regarding the Eid holiday situation, he said.
There are several aspects that the team will look into, namely monitoring and gathering information related to the implementation of the micro-level public activity restrictions (PPKM), logistics needs, and the availability of fuel, Diantoro said.
The team will also monitor health posts, the readiness of transportation facilities and infrastructure; tranquility, security, public order, and community protection (trantibumlinmas); inflation control; electricity supply; and telecommunications network readiness. The team will be in place until May 9, 2022.
Those issues should be the concern of the command post team, whose members comprise several officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Diantoro stressed.
The secretary general said that the government must help find solutions if, based on the monitoring, problems related to public services and regulation implementation, among others, are found.

He noted that the implementation of the virtual command post would help the team to monitor various events during the Eid holiday period.
Since the command post works virtually, the monitoring can be carried out everywhere as long as access to coordination and information is adequate.
Thus, the implementation of the command post for monitoring is different from last year, wherein all officers were required to visit the command posts directly, he said.
