The 7th GPDRR themed "From Risk to Resilience: Towards Sustainable Development for All in a COVID-19 Transformed World" will be held on May 23-38, 2022, in Nusa Dua, Bali Province.
The biennial international forum aims to monitor, evaluate, as well as discuss various new methods regarding disaster mitigation to serve as the basis for preparing a disaster mitigation action plan for the next two years.
The event is planned to be attended by President Joko Widodo, Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) António Guterres, several invited heads of state, as well as representatives from 193 GPDRR member countries, with the estimated number of participants reaching five thousand.
Thus, in addition to being a forum to discuss disaster mitigation attempts, the implementation of GPDRR can aid in promoting Indonesia’s tourism, as earlier stated by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy.
Hence, he had visited the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park and Luhur Uluwatu Temple in Badung District, Bali Province, which were readied for the delegations expected to visit the locations.
