Semarang (ANTARA) - State-run oil company Pertamina has assured that the distribution of fuel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) will continue and will not be affected by the coastal flooding in Tanjung Emas Port area, Semarang city.



There were two LPG terminal facilities located in Tanjung Emas Port and fuel terminal facilities in Pengapon area, not far from the port, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga’s communication, relations, and corporate social responsibility manager for Central Java region, Marthia Mulia Asri, said in a statement here on Tuesday.



However, the Opsico LPG Terminal, the temporary LPG terminal, and one fuel terminal facility located in Pengapon have not been inundated by the coastal flood.

"Although access to and from LPG skid tanks at the temporary LPG terminal in Tanjung Emas Port has been blocked due to flooding, LPG distribution can still be carried out from the Opsico LPG Terminal. Fuel distribution from the Pengapon Fuel Terminal is also running normally," Asri informed.




In addition, it has been confirmed that the 44.501.02 Usman Janatin gas station, which is the closest to the port area, has not been affected by flooding and is operating normally, she added.



"Meanwhile, the 47.501.06 Kopelra Bunker Fuel Station in the Tanjung Emas Port area is quite affected, but currently the fuel condition is sufficient to supply the ship's fuel needs for the next three days," Asri remarked.

The Bulk LPG Station, specifically for subsidized LPG, located in the Tanjung Emas Port area has not been affected by coastal flooding, and the warehouse for non-subsidized LPG agents in Tanjung Emas Port has continued to operate normally, she added.



She asked people not to worry about fuel and LPG supply in the area. She also expressed the hope that the coastal flood would subside soon.
