"To achieve the target of reducing the stunting prevalence rate to 14 percent by 2024, BKKBN continues to make various efforts, one of which is through the Elsimil application," institutional coordinator at BKKBN’s Directorate of Adolescent Resilience Development, Priyanti, said here on Saturday.
The application is one of BKKBN's top innovations and can be downloaded through Play Store, she informed.
The app aims to help prospective grooms and brides as well as adolescents better understand the importance of stunting prevention, she said.
According to her, BKKBN conducted socialization for teenagers via the app for a full week from June 1 to 7, 2022, as part of a series of activities for welcoming the 29th National Family Day, which will be commemorated on June 29.
Priyanti informed that her directorate is targeting teenagers because, in the future, they will be brides or grooms and even, parents.
She said she expected that through the Elsimil app, teenagers would understand that stunting has a bad impact on children.
The event "Elsimil Week" was divided into several main activities, Priyanti informed. The first was a media campaign driven by the Indonesian GenRe Community, In-Action TPK (Family Assistance Team), and Storytelling TPK.
On the first day, the event started with an online campaign using a twibbon and themed Kita Penting Indonesia or “We are Important Indonesia.” On the second day, the Elsimil app was introduced to Indonesian teenagers via a live Instagram broadcast.
"The red sign on the Elsimil Application does not state to stop or postpone marriage but to postpone the pregnancy of the first child instead. That is what is still confusing (for app users)," Priyanti said.
