The PAN Central Executive Board has appointed Yandri Susanto to replace Zulkifli Hasan as MPR deputy chief
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Mandate Party (PAN) has appointed Yandri Susanto as deputy chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) to replace Zulkifli Hasan, who currently holds the post of trade minister.

"The PAN Central Executive Board has appointed Yandri Susanto to replace Zulkifli Hasan as MPR deputy chief," PAN Deputy General Chairman Viva Yoga Mauladi stated here on Tuesday.

The decision to appoint Susanto as MPR deputy chief was made by acclamation at the daily meeting of the PAN Central Executive Board, he revealed.

PAN believes that Susanto will be able to perform his duties and functions as deputy chairman of MPR that serves as a nation-unifying institution, maintains the Unitary Republic of Indonesia, and fosters Indonesian nationalism.

Susanto is currently chief of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission VIII and PAN vice general chairman.

He currently serves his third term of office as a DPR member.
