"National Children's Day, which is commemorated every July 23, is the right momentum to remember the importance of fulfilling the rights of children aged 0–18 years," the ministry's deputy for coordination of child, women, and youth quality improvement, Femmy Eka Kartika Putri, said when contacted by ANTARA here on Tuesday.
The fulfillment of children's rights is the first foundation for realizing a golden and quality generation, she explained.
"National Children's Day reminds that every child has the right to live, grow, and develop, as well as (enjoy) the right to protection from violence and discrimination, that is assured in the 1945 Constitution," she said.

The fulfillment of children's rights, Putri said, can be the basis for raising children who excel in the many potentials they have.
This would allow Indonesia's next generation to participate and take an active role in various national development programs, she added.
Furthermore, she explained that National Children's Day is also the right moment to optimize the growth and development of Indonesian children.
"Indonesian children must grow and develop with physical and spiritual health, their growth and development must be optimal, and (they must) have a bright future, free from all forms of violence," she said.
To that end, her ministry has invited all relevant parties, starting from families, communities, educational institutions, mass media, and the business world to actively work with the government to realize children's protection so that they can grow and develop to their best.
