Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Communication and Information Ministry will block electronic system operators (PSEs) who fail to register on the Online Single Submission (OSS) system by 11:59 p.m. Western Indonesian Standard Time (WIB, UTC+7) on Friday.

"If they have not registered by 11:59 p.m. (WIB), once again, I apologize to the public since their service will not be accessed from Indonesia temporarily," director general of informatics application at the ministry, Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan, announced at a press conference here on Friday.

However, he assured that the block would not be permanent. If the unregistered PSEs file for service normalization and provide the required registration data, they will be allowed to resume services.

Once the PSEs register and confirm that they have completed the process, the ministry will lift the block, the director general stated.

The registration of private PSEs is very important to realize a conducive, comfortable, and safe digital space for all actors—service providers as well as users, he stressed.

"Thus, we can get the benefits of the digital transformation which is being developed," he remarked.

Furthermore, he informed that Google and Alibaba have registered on the OSS manually and have completed the required documentation.

So far, a total of 5,394 entities and companies have registered 8,962 electronic services (SE), Pangerapan noted. Meanwhile, as many as 55 PSEs and SEs are being investigated for allegedly not providing the correct information at the time of registration.

Furthermore, a number of major PSEs have not registered on the OSS system, including e-commerce platform Amazon; search engines Yahoo! and Bing; online gaming platforms Dota, Steam, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Epic Games, and Battle.Net; as well as digital distribution platform Origin, he informed.

Earlier, the ministry had announced July 20, 2022, as the registration deadline for PSEs. However, five additional days were given to operators who failed to register by the deadline.

The ministry is also planning to impose fines on PSEs who fail to register on the OSS, but the regulation concerning the fine is still being discussed by the related ministries.
