We welcome the result of the hard work from Y20 for the adoption of the 2022 Y20 Communiqué
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Y20 Communiqué Document, which adopts the idea of all Y20 delegations, is expected to become a concrete solution and formulate recommendation in the G20 Leaders' Declaration.

The Indonesian Y20 Team echoed this expectation while meeting with Indonesia G20 Co-Sherpa Edi Prio Pambudi at the Indonesia G20 Sherpa Secretariat Office, here, Thursday.

According to its official website, Y20 is a forum for future young leaders from G20 member countries for discussing, debating, and exchanging ideas regarding the agenda of the G20 Presidency.

Meanwhile, G20 is an international forum comprising 19 countries that work together to handle major issues. Indonesia is holding the presidency of the grouping this year.

"We welcome the result of the hard work from Y20 for the adoption of the 2022 Y20 Communiqué," Pambudi, concurrently the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs' International Cooperation Coordination Deputy, remarked.

"This an extraordinary achievement amid the escalation of geopolitical tensions on the other side of the world," he affirmed.

During the meeting, the Indonesian Delegation to 2022 Y20, represented by Marcel Satria, the Indonesian Delegate to Y20: Digital Transformation, and Nashin Mahtani, Indonesian Delegate to Y20: Sustainable and Livable Planet, outlined the result of the communiqué.

The Indonesian Y20 Team sought support, so that the document can be one of the recommendations within the G20 Leaders' Declaration and a concrete solution from four main areas of focus at the Youth 20 (Y20) Forum: youth manpower, digital transformation, sustainable and livable planet, as well as diversity and inclusion.

Satria commenced the presentation with request for support from G20 Leaders to adopt commitments related to global health, such as encouraging health data collection that is actively and fairly communicated as a form of transparency.

Mahtani thereafter urged G20 leaders to eliminate systemic bias in the health sector's treatment.

Pambudi noted that voices of the youth should be heard and will fight for it, so that the communiqué can be included within one of the policy recommendations of the Leaders' Declaration in November 2022.

The Co-Sherpa also thanked and congratulated the team for holding the Y20 Summit in Jakarta and Bandung in July 2022.

Moreover, the Y20 Team explained that every pre-summit meeting will not only be attended by G20 country delegations but also observers from international organizations, invited countries, and certain communities.

These communities include indigenous people, local communities, refugee, and people with disabilities.
