Governor Pranowo and Governor Parawansa were invited by the student forum to the event held to introduce campus life to new students (PKKMB), Rector of Airlangga University, Prof. Mohammad Nasih, informed on Saturday.
"The student forum initiated to bring in the best figures of Indonesia so they could give inspiration and information, especially to these new students," he said.
During the event, Pranowo and Parawansa took turns offering words of motivation to new students who successfully entered the university through tough competition. The governors also encouraged them to develop themselves and achieve their ambitions.
Both Pranowo and Parawansa are chairpersons of alumni organizations of two well-known campuses in the country.

Pranowo is the chairperson of the Alumni Association of Gadjah Mada University (Kagama), while Parawansa is the chairperson of the Airlangga University Alumni Association (IKA).
Meanwhile, at the event, Pranowo suggested that lecturers help students develop their talents for the future.
"(The talent supporting) is based on their respective potentials," Pranowo added.
Meanwhile, according to the Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry, PKKMB implementation aims to help students learn about their new environment, especially the organization and structure of the university, the learning system, and student affairs.
The introductory program also seeks to increase students' awareness of the importance of education, character education, and skills development, so that they can apply them in daily life.
Moreover, PKKMB is expected to help form friendships and connections between students, lecturers, and educational personnel. The PKKMB, which upholds the principles of openness, anti-violence, and democracy, is usually held for a week, from morning till afternoon.
